About Me
I am Pez Cuckow and am from Bradford-on-Avon in the UK. I went to St Laurence School & Sixth Form also in Bradford-on-Avon and am currently studying Computer Science, Business & Management at the University of Manchester.
I am versatile student and an aspiring entrepreneur, and am currently seeking challenging and inspiring placement in the I.T. sector for my 3rd year at University; that offers the chance to be at the forefront of technology and solving complex problems as part of my daily routine.
I mainly program in PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript - but have experience in languages from Java, through Python to C (see coding) and regularly apply my programming knowledge to solve problems for myself or clients such as a content management system; an online system used by my Sixth Form to create our yearbook collaboratively; a payment system used by some societies at my university and an accounting, task & client management solution used by my business.
In 2011 I completed my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award working directly with the DofE committee and was given the chance to visit St James' Palace and meet Duke himself, the physical of my DofE included the Ten Tors Dartmoor endurance event organised by the British Army which I completed in 2010.
Photography
When ever I visit an event or just go out I often bring my camera and take lots of photographs. I prefer using my artistic eye to take abstract photographs over taking "snaps" of wherever I may be, I keep my favourite photographs online on my
500px account.
Music
I enjoy a variety of genres of music, from Rock to Drum and Bass as well as a variety of artists such as; Queen, Pendulum, DJ Fresh, P!ink and Flight of the Conchords. I used to create music under the name "Steaming Chilli Beat" and created one album of 15 tracks, consisting of synthetic drum & trance music.
GeoCaching
I used to be an avid GeoCacher. The basic idea of GeoCaching is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. See
here for more information.
